SCA Fiji helps flood victims

In mid-January severe storms in the South Pacific flooded parts of Fiji in what is being called the worst flooding in recent history. SCA Fiji, based in the capital Suva, has been indirectly affected by immense flooding in the Nadi region.

Map of FijiThe worst storms and flooding hit the western and northern divisions of Fiji, and on the western side of the Viti Levu Island the towns of Nadi and Ba are still in a state of emergency.

160 evacuation centres were set up, with close to 10,000 people needing assistance after being stranded in the destroyed towns and villages.

The mayor of Nadi has said the floods have set the town back ten years. SCA Fiji does what they can, donating toilet paper and diapers.
