On the occasion of the Chinese Elderly Day (October 26), a campaign named "Give back the smile" was launched by SCA’s incontinence care brand TENA in Guangzhou, the biggest city in South China.
SCA aims to raise public awareness of China's caregivers and to acknowledge the contributions they make to the society. The campaign encourages people to tell their stories about caring for people, people who have cared them or other family stories.
Chinese celebrity support
The campaign was launched at the Shouxin Elderly Home, China’s largest elderly home.
To encourage story-telling, SCA invited celebrity MC Ying Jie and Guangdong TV drama celebrity Eva Hu (see image in the middle) who is appointed the caregivers' godmother by SCA to create a dialogue about their family members.
SCA donated TENA incontinence care products to the residents of the home, while the two celebrities encouraged them to share experiences. The residents gave back their smiles through dancing, singing and some other performances.
"SCA's mission is to provide essential products that improve the quality of people's everyday life. We are committed to developing all our products in a sustainable way." says Dr. Stephan Dyckerhoff, President of SCA’s hygiene operations in Northern Asia (see lower image).
